Beijing DCN Orthopaedic Hospital is new-type orthopaedic healthcare institute in Beijing in line with the internationally accredited standard and approved by Beijing Municipal Department of Health. The Hospital was established in 2002 and has become the preferred hospital by over thousands of families. It provides a specialized healthcare service for the population in an internationally accepted standard, including diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of orthopaedic disorders, and also serves the community as a general practice. As of January 1st, 2006, Beijing DCN Orthopaedic Hospital has been accepted as a Beijing Municipal Specialty Medical Insurance-designated healthcare institute. All the insured patients covered by the Municipal Medical Insurance can get reimbursed for the medical service. The Hospital is also the designated hospital for public-funded healthcare of Haidian District, Beijing City. On February 14th, 2008, the Hospital was supplemented by China General Administration of Sports as a designated hospital for national players of Chinese Olympic Committee. On May 25th, 2010, the Hospital was accepted as a clinical teaching hospital for Department of Sports Rehabilitation, Beijing Sports University.

The Hospital is also the clinical teaching hospital in China Mainland for Department of Rehabilitative Medicine, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a New Rural Cooperative Medical Insurance designated hospital in Haidian District, Beijing City, and a healthcare service provider for overseas patients designated by Euro-Center China (HK) Co., Ltd. as well. Beijing DCN Orthopaedic Hospital has established a long and close collaborative relationship with multiple internationally authorized healthcare institutes and organizations such Charite Hospital, Diakonie Hospital, and Endo-Klinik Hospital, Germany, Prince Wales Hospital, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine, through regular academic exchange visit to improve diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, research, and teaching of bone disorders.

Due to the principal specialist program’, Beijing DCN Orthopaedic Hospital is staffed with a strong team of domestic and exotic specialists, including Prof. Geng-Ting Dang, Principal Spinal Surgeon, Prof. Cheng-Gong Zheng, Principal Orthopaedic Investigator, Prof. Ji-Fang Wang, Principal Joint Surgeon, Prof. Yi Liu, Principal Trauma Surgeon, and Dr. Hong-Xuan Lin, Principal Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist. All the above specialists are participating in the first-line diagnosis, teaching, and research activities in person. Moreover, the Hospital endeavors to appoint Prof. Jun-Xiong Huang, former President of Mackay Memorial Hospital, Taiwan, as Honorary President to fully improve the internationalized medical quality and standardized hospital management for the diagnosis and treatment of complicated and refractory orthopaedic disorders.

Beijing DCN Orthopaedic Hospital occupies 17 000 m2, with a construction area of 14 440 m2. The Hospital is equipped with 182 beds in four nursing units. Each ward has an area of 33.2 m2, en-suited with private bathroom and washroom. A one-hundredth grade and two one-thousandth grade clean operating rooms are installed in the Hospital. Audio and video live broadcasting is available between the one-hundredth operating room and the international conference center for the purpose of meeting, training, and teaching. The Hospital is also furnished with high-end GE C-arm, OSI orthopaedic operating table, world-class arthroscopy system and instruments, and the latest CYBEX isokinetic exercise device in China. The other advances equipments consist of bedside monitoring system, centralized oxygen supply system, and central vacuum suction. The Hospital has a full medical service, including biochemical assay, radiography, ultrasonography, Doppler ultrasonography, electrocardiography, internal medicine, and surgery.

Since the establishment of the Hospital, over 10,000 operations of varies procedures have been successfully completed. The minimally invasive arthroscopy totals 4,508 cases, including 1246 for knee arthritis, 584 for meniscal tear repair or removal, 613 for cruciate ligament repair, 392 for femoral head necrosis, 362 for gluteal muscle contracture, 320 for shoulder joint surgery, 284 for elbow joint surgery, and 304 for bone fracture, and 301 for wrist and ankle joint surgeries. The volume of joint replacement is 950, including 560 hip, 341 knee, 24 elbow, and 20 shoulder joint replacements, respectively. The overall number of spinal surgeries is 13,00, including 641 for cervical vertebrae and 659 for lumbar vertebrae, respectively. The trauma surgeries of various types approximate 350. No complication is identified in any patient whilst patients report a 99.5% satisfaction in over six months’ follow-up period.
